To make way for the new construction, extensive demolition was carried out, involving approximately eighty percent of the original sixty-year-old home, along with the removal of an existing in-ground concrete swimming pool. Upon commencing the project, our construction team also had to contend with logistical challenges, including site access and the implementation of comprehensive traffic control measures. These challenges necessitated meticulous planning to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

Initially, our clients were under the impression that a complete demolition of the existing structure was required. However, through a collaborative consultation with our team and the incorporation of our design recommendations, significant cost savings were realised by retaining and repurposing portions of the existing building, thereby avoiding the necessity of entirely replacing it with new structures. In terms of site access, our on-site and off-site teams engaged in a concerted effort to collaborate closely with the City Council and local residents. This partnership allowed for meticulous planning and timing of partial street closures, effectively mitigating any adverse impacts on neighboring properties.

While this project represents one of our more luxurious endeavours, it remains at its core a family home. Despite the clients' precise preferences for finishes, the overarching emphasis was on ensuring that the design accommodated family life as much as it did aesthetics. Among the many exceptional features of this residence, the off-form coloured concrete ceilings in the living room and the external facade stand out as prime examples, offering a blend of minimalist elegance and exquisite appeal.
